(Ukendt kilde).

He was a farmer in Raarup at the time of his death, which was on April 26, 1810. Accordingly to the census paper from 1801, they had at least one son, Rasmus Pedersen, born about 1799.
In their marriage Jens Hansen Juul and Maren Andersdatter had ten children: Hans Juul (born 5/23/1857, died 1932 in America), Anders (born 9/17/1858, died? in America), Soren (born 3/5/1861, died 3/15/1905), Birte Marie (born 2/9/1862, died 6/18/1943), Maren Kjerstine (born 10/3/ 1863, died 1/1/1931 in America), Mads (born 5/8/1865, died about 1928 in America), Soren Peter (born 12/21/1866, died 1947 in America), Julie Katrine (born 3/11/1869, died 11/20/1874), Ellen (born 8/13/1871, died 2/14/1874) and Karl Eller (born 6/27/1875, died 2/7/1882).
+

After their marriage they succeeded in getting their own homestead in Raarup Oestermark. The soil was not good for planting crops. In the census papers from 1880 the property was called a "house, and the family earns their living by farming." However, the land stayed in the family and eventually Jens and Maren's daughter, Birte Marie, took over the property when she married.
+
On February 28, 1817 Hans Juulsen was given the copyhold of a farm in Raarup from the manor of Boller. Actually he took over the copyhold from his wife's late husband. He bound himself to rebuild the old ramshackled farmhouse at his own expense.
 +
Hans and Johanne Marie had three children together: Maren Kirstine Hansdatter (born 2/14/1817), Juhl Hansen (born 2/1/1819, died 3/28/1895) and Jens Hansen Juul (born 1/4/1823, died 10/21/1901).
 +
Johanne Marie Jorgensdatter died in May 19,1860 in Raarup and was buried in the churchyard cemetery on May 26, 1860.
 +
Juhl Hansen, (son of Hans and Johanne Marie) had a son when he became a widower. That son's name was Hans Juulsen (same name as his grandfather). Juhl then met and married the widow Kathrine Skov Jorgensen who had six children from her previous marriage.

They named him Jorgen Juul Hansen.

Juhl Hansen’s son from his first marriage, Hans Juulsen, married Kathrine who was the daughter of Kathrine Skov Jorgensen from her first marriage. The two Hans Juulsens with the same name caused some confusion so they were referred to as "Old Hans Juhl" and “Little Hans Juhl.” It has been said that when Juhl Hansen drove to Raarup to visit his father, Old Hans Juhl (that is Hans Juulsen) he would say: "I am going down to visit both of my son-in-laws."
 +
Old Hans Juulsen died August 19, 1870. He was buried in the churchyard of Raarup on August 25,1870. As to the administration of his estate: Its worth was estimated at a sum of 1600 Rigsdaler [rix-dollar]. There was 770 Rigsdaler for the children after the expenses were subtracted and his widow had received her inheritance (one-half). However, his widow increased this sum to 200 Rigsdaler to each child. The inheritance of the under age son, Jorgen Juul Hansen, was to remain in the estate. In return he had a first mortgage on the property.
 +
Ane Marie Jorgensen (Old Hans Juulsen’s widow) died on June 16, 1906. Their son Jorgen Juul Hansen had no descendants when he passed away.
 +
So Ane Marie Jorgensen was married to her stepfather's father and Kathrine Jorgensen was married to her stepfather's son.
 +
Old Hans Juhl as well as Little Hans Juhl had children. Their mothers were sisters and they were also cousins.
 +
Hans Juulsen's son, Jorgen Juul Hansen, was the half-brother of Juhl Hansen in Ornsvig. At the same time he was a paternal uncle to Little Hans Juhl, who was 22 years older than him. Little Hans Juhl made a show of being uncle to his own paternal uncle, as his wife Kathrine was a sister to the mother of Jorgen Juul Hansen, namely Ane Marie. Old Hans Juhl was great-grandfather to the children of Little Hans Juhl. Therefore, his wife was their "great grand-mother", but she was the sister of their mother, and that is what she was called (in Danish: Moster).

Maren Andersdatter died July 27, 1880, at the age of 52. Her daughter Birte Marie, then 18 years old and unmarried, came home to keep house for her father and her little brother Karl Eller, who was then five years old – however, he died two years later.

Hans Juulsen og Johanne Marie Jørgensdatter fik børnene: 1.Maren Kirstine Hansdatter (født 14.2.1817 i Rårup). 2.Juul Hansen (født 1.2.1819 i Rårup, død 28.3.1895 i Rårup). 3.Jens Hansen Juul (født 4.2.1823 i Rårup, død 21.10.1901 i Rårup Østermark, Rårup sogn).

(Ukendt kilde).

Hans Juulsen was born in Raarup on April 6, 1790. His parents were Juul Jensen and Maren Jensdatter. He was christened in his parent's home on the day that he was born. His christening was confirmed in the church of Raarup on May 24, (Whit Monday) 1790. Ane, who was a daughter of Jorgen Krage, carried him. His godfathers were Jens Andersen, Hans Nielsen Snedker and Jorgen Kusk's stepson Anders. His godmothers were the wives of Michel Nielsen and Thomas Sorensen from Raarup. During his military service Hans Juulsen had an important position in the Zealand Hunting Corps (a military title) and his position was called "hunter". He married the widow, Johanne Marie Jorgensdatter on November 2, 1816 in the church of Raarup. Johanne Marie Jorgensdatter was born in Lindved and into the parish of Raarup in 1777. Her parents were Jorgen Hansen Pors and Dorthe Rasmusdatter Krage. She was christened in her parents home and her christening was confirmed in the church of Raarup on March 9, 1777. Mette Pedersdatter carried her at her christening. Her godfathers were Jens Christensen from Lindved and her mother's brothers Thomas Rasmussen Krage and Soren Rasmussen Krage. Her godmothers were Maren Laursdatter and Else Pedersdatter. Johanne Marie Jorgensdatter was married in the church of Raarup on November 25, 1797 to Peder Rasmussen. He was born around the year of 1773. He was a farmer in Raarup at the time of his death, which was on April 26, 1810. Accordingly to the census paper from 1801, they had at least one son, Rasmus Pedersen, born about 1799. Johanne Marie was married again on July 7, 1810 in the church of Raarup to Lars Olesen from Molsted. He was born about 1774 and died in Raarup on March 17, 1816. On February 28, 1817 Hans Juulsen was given the copyhold of a farm in Raarup from the manor of Boller. Actually he took over the copyhold from his wife's late husband. He bound himself to rebuild the old ramshackled farmhouse at his own expense. Hans and Johanne Marie had three children together: Maren Kirstine Hansdatter (born 2/14/1817), Juhl Hansen (born 2/1/1819, died 3/28/1895) and Jens Hansen Juul (born 1/4/1823, died 10/21/1901). Johanne Marie Jorgensdatter died in May 19,1860 in Raarup and was buried in the churchyard cemetery on May 26, 1860. Juhl Hansen, (son of Hans and Johanne Marie) had a son when he became a widower. That son's name was Hans Juulsen (same name as his grandfather). Juhl then met and married the widow Kathrine Skov Jorgensen who had six children from her previous marriage. On May 25, 1861 Hans Juulsen (born 4/6/1790) married one of Kathrine Skov Jorgensen’s daughter’s. Her name was Ane Marie. In other words, Hans married his son's stepdaughter. Ane Marie was born on March 26, 1837 in Raarup on the farm called Ornsvig. Hans was 47 years older than the young Ane Marie. On October 13, 1862 Ane Marie gave birth to a son. They named him Jorgen Juul Hansen. Juhl Hansen’s son from his first marriage, Hans Juulsen, married Kathrine who was the daughter of Kathrine Skov Jorgensen from her first marriage. The two Hans Juulsens with the same name caused some confusion so they were referred to as "Old Hans Juhl" and “Little Hans Juhl.” It has been said that when Juhl Hansen drove to Raarup to visit his father, Old Hans Juhl (that is Hans Juulsen) he would say: "I am going down to visit both of my son-in-laws." Old Hans Juulsen died August 19, 1870. Ane Marie Jorgensen (Old Hans Juulsen’s widow) died on June 16, 1906. Their son Jorgen Juul Hansen had no descendants when he passed away. So Ane Marie Jorgensen was married to her stepfather's father and Kathrine Jorgensen was married to her stepfather's son. Old Hans Juhl as well as Little Hans Juhl had children. Their mothers were sisters and they were also cousins. Jens Hansen Juul died in Raarup Oestermark on October 21, 1901. He was buried in the churchyard of Raarup on October 26, 1901. He had retained undivided possession of the estate since his wife's death in 1880. His inheritance was divided up among seven of their eight children, with each receiving 115,92 kr.[1] It was believed that their son, Anders had died in America, as he had not been heard from since 1885. The family had searched for him by publishing an ad in one of the American newspapers but their efforts to find him, brought no results. There is evidence that Jens and Maren attended "De Staerke Jyder." "De Staerke Jyder" is the name of a religious movement and it can be interpreted as "the powerful Jutlanders." It was a group from the area that revolted against the authority of the established church to maintain the right to use their old hymnal (Kingos Salmebog – The hymnal of Kingos). They also wanted the right to read the catechism of Pontoppidans. Their efforts won the rights to maintain and use Kingos Salmebog and to read the catechism of Pontoppidans. There is a copy of "Kingos Psalmebog" in our family. Inside of that book it is written: "Denne Bog tilhore mig Jens Hansen Jul og Maren Andersdatter" (In English that sentence reads: "this book belongs to me, Jens Hansen Jul and Maren Andersdatter.)"
